She was standoffish, quick to anger, horribly hostile. Yes she does the classic Gideon phrases, calling Palamedes “sexpal” and using incredibly casual language but her relationship with everyone was very different. But what took me off guard was the fact that Gideon’s corpse has been awake the whole time and Gideon doesn’t sound at ALL like Gideon. I will admit, I kept in the back of my mind, my eagerness to see Harrow and Gideon again, as separate people or together, whatever shape and size that came in. It simply can’t be just me (Its 4am while I right this, because this series has a chokehold on me.)īut as I finish up Nona the Ninth I find myself INCREDIBLY dissatisfied, not by the plot or how Muir choses to tell the story (I LOVE the way she story tells and how different they are amongst her books) but what is keeping me up at night is Gideon in this latest book.
